الخطية بصفـة عامـة هـى عنصـر دخيل على طبيعة الإنسان، والوضع الأصلى هو أن نحيا مع الله، وبقيامة السيد المسيح صار لنا الغلبة على الخطية. فكيف إذن أتعامل مع الخطية؟ لنحصد النصرة؟
1- الإيمان بأن السيد المسيح أقوى من الخطية فهو قـادر أن يقيمنى من مـوت الخطيـة "مــــن آمــــن بـــى ولــو مــــات فسيحيا" (يو 25:11)، "إن الخطية لن تسودكم" (رو 14:6).
2- الإحساس بأنى إبن لله فى كل الحالات فمهما كانت آثامى وخطاياى، فالله الآب السماوى الحنون الذى يقبلنى كإبن له. فى مثل الإبن الضال (لو 15) لم يدع الإبن أن ينطق
بأنــه أجيـر وصـرخ فـى وجهـه: أنت إبنى وستظـل إبنـى.. أنـت إبنـى فـى كل حالاتك.
قـول آبائـى: "يمكـــــن للإنســـــان أن يتــــرك البنـــــوة، ولكــــن الله لا يمكــــن أن لا يكون أباً".
3- التوبة الحاسمة والرجاء فى الله المطلوب هو كره الخطية من كل القلب، والتوبة والرجاء فى الله "لا تشمتى بى يا عدوتى لأنى إن سقطت أقوم" (مى 8:7).
قول أبائى: "أنت لن تدان على سقطاتك بقدر ما سوف تدان على عدم توبتك ورجائك".
4- الثقة بإمكانية التغيير فى حياتى أن السيد المسيح قادر أن يخلق فىّ قلباً جديداً، وكياناً جديداً فهو الذى غير الزانى إلى قديس (أغسطينوس)، وهو الذى صير اللص باراً (القديس موسى الأسود).
5- إياك أن تترك أسلحة محاربتك مهما كانت حالتك قم سريعاً بعد السقوط ولا تيأس، لأن خلف نفسك المجروحة يقف لك السيد المسيح ممسكاً بإكليل الجهاد، وتمسك بأسلحة محاربتك واستمر فى جهادك وحفظ حواسك، وإياك أن تترك وسائط النعمة.
أ- الأسرار المقدسة : التوبة والإعتراف والإفخارستيا.
ب- الكتاب المقدس : "سراج لرجلى كلامك ونور لسبيلى" (مز 105:119).
ج- الصلاة والصوم : "هذا الجنس لا يخرج بشىء" (مر 29:9). وأشبع بالسيد المسيح حبيبك "لأن النفس الشبعانة تدوس العسل" (أم 7:27).link
